To provide a picture processing device which can perform simultaneously display of NTSC and CRT without requiring an NTSC frame memory for displaying NTSC exclusively.
In this picture processing device, when picture data given to frame memory 2 from a plotting processor 1 is read out by a frame memory control section 3, data for displaying on a CRT is read out from a serial port of the frame memory 2 conforming to timing for displaying on a CRT generated by a display timing control section 4, and in the same way, data for displaying NTSC is read out from a random port of the frame memory 2 conforming to timing for displaying NTSC generated by the display timing control section 4. After data for displaying on a CRT is DA-converted to a CRT signal by a DA converter 5, the CRT signal is displayed on the CRT display device 6, and after data for displaying NTSC is converted to a NTSC signal by a NTSC converter section 7, the NTSC signal is displayed on a NTSC display device 8.
