PURPOSE: Complete welding structure in pipe to pipe plate is facilitated by effective pipe overlap process, using escape provided in pipe hole of plate.
CONSTITUTION: Pipe hole 2 in pipe plate 1 is provided on its inner surface with an escape 5 which is recessed 1 to 2 mm deep, excepting the pipe-end peripheral area. The escape 5 is useful for a pipe insertion 3 into the hole 2 and facilitates a work on cutting small portion of pipe end. This provides small contact area between the pipe 3 and hole 2 and a projected pipe at the lower end of the escape 5. As a result, temperature rises at a higher rate and welding rod is easily accessed and contacted with welding area 4, thereby contributing to a highly reliable welding and facilitated operation.
