Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the device which has high strength and toughness and can easily be handled and also to provide the manufacturing method of the device.
CONSTITUTION: In this manufacture, the first sealing section in the peripheral part of a dielectric sheet 3 which is opposite to a plasma glass 21 through electrodes 22 and barrier ribs 23 and by which plasma sections 2 are formed, is coated with a sealant 44 for a liquid crystal and the sealant 44 is cured to join the dielectric sheet 3 and a color filter 41 together. A liquid crystal chamber 48 is formed between the dielectric sheet 3 and color filter 41 through using the sealant 44 as the side wall. Also, the second sealing section in the edge part of the dielectric sheet 3, located on the outside of the first sealing section, is coated with a reinforcing sealant 6 and the sealant 6 is cured to firmly join the plasma glass 21, dielectric sheet 3 and color filter 41 to each other. The second sealing section is not allowed to contact with the liquid crystal since it is located on the outside of the first sealing section and accordingly, the firm joining of these components 21, 3 and 41 of the device can be performed by using the reinforcing sealant 6 selected mainly on account of its high adhesion.
