To provide a polycondensed resin which is obtained using a promoter for polycondensation reaction which enhances the catalytic activity power of a titanium compound and is effective for reduction of the reaction time, which has a low degree of coloring, and which has a chargeability preventing the occurrence of fogging when being used as a binding resin for a toner; and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.
The polycondensed resin is obtained by polycondensing a raw material monomer in the presence of a titanium compound represented by formula (A): Ti(Z)4 (A) (wherein Z is a 2-28C alkoxy group which may have a substituent, a 2-28C alkenyloxy group which may have a substituent or a 2-28C acyloxy group which may have a substituent) and a pyrogallol compound having a benzene ring whose three mutually adjacent hydrogen atoms are substituted with hydroxide groups, wherein the presence amount of the titanium compound represented by the formula (A) is 0.01 to 2.0 pts.wt, and the presence amount of the pyrogallol compound is 0.001 to 1.0 pt.wt, to 100 pts.wt of the raw material monomer of the polycondensed resin; and the weight ratio of the pyrogallol compound and the titanium compound represented by the formula (A) (the pyrogallol compound/the titanium compound) is 0.01 to 0.5. There is also provided a method for manufacturing the polycondensed resin.
