Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powder excellent in especially mechanical properties such as tensile strength, constant-strain environmental stress cracking resistance and resistance to solvent solution and having good flowability, by making the powder a powder based on a polyethylene having a density, a melt flow rate, a molecular weight distribution and a swell ratio all of which fall within specified ranges which has a bulk density, an angle of repose in flowing and an eluate amount all of which fall within specified ranges. SOLUTION: This is a powder based on a polyethylene having a density of 0.880-0.960, a melt flow rate of 0.01-200 (at 190 deg.C under a load of 2.16 kg), a ratio of the melt flow rate at 190 deg.C under a load of 10.0 kg to that at 190 deg.C under a load of 2.16 kg of 3-10, a molecular weight distribution of 2.0-4.0 and a swell ratio at 190 deg.C of 1.35 or below and having a bulk density of about 0.25 to 0.50, an angle of repose in flowing of 30-45 deg. and an eluate amount of 1.4% or below. The polyethylene used is desirably one obtained by using a single site catalyst.
