PURPOSE: To obtain a handheld type portable radio device with reduced influence of an electromagnetic wave, etc., upon the head of a user, by providing a high frequency current stopping means between a receiver part and an antenna radiator.

CONSTITUTION: The receiver part 3 of a radio telephone set body 2 is arranged facing an ear of the user 1, and the transmitter part 4 is arranged facing the mouth of the user 1; and an antenna extending to the side of the receiver part 3 of the body 2 is provided with a nonradiation part 6 in addition to the radiator part 5. This nonradiation part 6 is provided to the position where it faces the head of the user 1, so an electric wave radiated from the radiator part 5 is produced mainly over the head of the user 1, reducing the influence upon the user 1.
