Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly accurate reference position signal in an position encoder.
CONSTITUTION: A displacement signal VA and auxiliary signal VOZ are inputted to a beat period signal generating means and a counter incorporated in the beat period signal generating means is counted up at the rising edge of the displacement signal VA and cleared at the rising edge of the auxiliary signal VOZ. When the count value of the counter becomes 2, a beat period signal VRZ is outputted from the beat period signal generating means. When a traveling object passes a reference position, a temporary reference position signal VT rises. When the signal VT rises, the first beat period signal VRZ is detected and pulses are counted considering the pulse signal VP synchronized to the signal VRZ as the first pulse.
