Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a positive electrode active material for coating positive electrode active material precursor particles with carbon while reducing the positive electrode active material precursor particles.

A method for producing a positive electrode active material includes a step of calcining positive electrode active material precursor particles while exposing to a reducing gas and a hydrocarbon gas. Another method for producing a positive electrode active material includes the steps of: adding a reducing agent to the positive electrode active material precursor particles, and calcining the positive electrode active material precursor particles while exposing the positive electrode active material precursor particles to a hydrocarbon gas.
