Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and noise of a device and to enhance the maintenance saving by eliminating an electric blower.
SOLUTION: This power converter for high-speed rolling stock has a traveling wind cooling structure in which the radiation part 5 of a cooler 2 is mounted downward on a device body 6 to be protruded out of the circumferential surface thereof. The cooler 2 is mounted on the side bottom part 19 of a power converter body 6, so that the alignment direction of radiation fins 23 in the radiation part 5 of the cooler 2 is substantially parallel to an advancing direction 44. The side bottom part 19 of the power converter body 6 mounted with the cooler 2 is recessed upward from a body bottom 12, and an equipment chamber 20 is provided about in the rail directional 18 center of the power converter body 6.
