Abstract:

To provide a differential line driver that has a quadruple power supply voltage swing, extends a loop length to a subscriber line, acts like an active impedance termination section and eliminates the need for a series termination resistor so as to save the transmission power by 6 dB.

The differential line driver includes a differential circuit that has a 1st input node, a 2nd input node, a 1st output node 52, a 2nd output node 54 and a power supply voltage node VDD, a 1:1 transformer 22 that has a 1st coil connected between the 1st output node 52 and the 2nd output node 54 and a center tap 50 connected to the power supply voltage node VDD.
