PURPOSE: To make the entire radio telephone set light by limiting a current flowing to a receiver front end or the like in response to the intensity of a reception signal so as to use the telephone set for a long time and to make a battery mounted on the telephone set small.

CONSTITUTION: An RSSi signal outputted from an RSSi signal section is inputted also to a comparator 17a1 of a comparison section 17a in a power supply limiter section 17 and the comparator 17a1 compares the RSSi signal with a prescribed reference voltage. As the result of comparison by the comparator 17a1, when it is confirmed that the RSSi signal exceeds the reference voltage, a notice signal is outputted from the comparator 17a1 to a level adjustment section 17b, in which the signal is divided into a prescribed level by resistors 17b1, 17b2 and the result is adjusted, and the adjusted voltage is fed to a transistor(TR) 17c1 of a current control section 17c. Then the reception gain of a receiver front end 12 is decreased to decrease the current thereby saving power of a battery of the radio receiver. Thus, the telephone set is used for a long time.
