To provide a power steering device capable of improving steering response by reducing flow resistance of working oil flowing through a compensation passage of a suction side.
The power steering device is equipped with a reversible oil pump which is provided in the inner side of a pump body 18a and a rear cover 18b, and discharges working oil to a hydraulic power cylinder, and a reservoir tank 10 which is fixed to a front end part of a rear cover and stores the working oil supplied to the oil pump through respective compensation passages 14, 15. The respective compensation passages are formed in parallel along the vertical direction in the inner part of the rear cover, and first and second check valves 16, 17 wherein each ball valve element 26 is seated on a valve seat 25b by its own weight to close each passing hole 25a are provided.
