Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain phenolic resin having improved flexibility and bending processing, by adding a specific monoglycidyl derivative to phenolic resin dissolved in a solvent obtained by reacting a phenol and formalehyde.
CONSTITUTION: Phenolic resin obtained by reacting one mole of a phenol with 1.2W2.0 moles of formaldehyde in the presence of an alkaline catalyst at the reflux temperature of the solvent used for 40W70 minutes is dissolved in a solvent to give a varnish, which is blended with 5W15 parts by wt. based on the phenol resin of a monoglycidyl derivative shown by the formula (R is 8W16C alkyl).
