Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain phenolic resin having improved phenolic and bending processing, by adding a specific polyethylene derivative to phenolic resin obtained by reacting a phenol and formaldehyde.
CONSTITUTION: Phenolic resin obtained by reacting 1 mole of a phenol with 1.4W 2.0 moles of formaldehyde in the presence of an alkaline catalyst at the reflux temperature of the solvent used for 20W40 minutes is blended with 5W15 wt.% based on the solid content of the phenolic resin of a polyethylene derivative shown by the formula (R is propylene oxide; n is 1W15).
