Abstract:

To provide an on-press coating, on-press exposure, and on-press processing method applicable to all the planographic printing machines including a printing machine excluding the supply of dampening water and make the suspending hours of the printing machine the shortest.

A planography method consists of seven stages: (i) a web of flexible planographic base having a hydrophilic surface is wound off a supply spool, (ii) the planographic base is wound around a plate cylinder of the printing machine, (iii) an image recording layer removable in a single-fluid ink or removable by being exposed to heat or light is applied on the planographic base, (iv) the image recording layer is exposed to the heat or the light as it is, (v) the image recording layer is processed by supplying the single-fluid ink whereby a printing master is obtained, (vi) printing is conducted by supplying the single- fluid ink to the printing master installed on the plate cylinder of the printing machine, and (vii) the printing master is removed from the plate cylinder, preferably taken up, by winding up on the spool.
