Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a comfortable print output of high image quality even from an input image of a halftone region.
SOLUTION: Image data having tone image data value per pixel is inputted to a printer to print an image. The printer has; a pixel group generation means which selects pixels to generate a pixel group until the sum total of tone image data values per pixel exceeds a threshold; a centroid position determination means which determines a centroid position of the pixel group generated by the pixel group generation means; an output data value setting means which sets output data values to pixels included in an area corresponding to the prescribed number of dots around the centroid position determined by the centroid position determination means; a pulse width conversion means which converts output data values of pixels set by the output data value setting means to pulses having a prescribed width; and a print control means which generates dots on the basis of pulses converted by the pulse width conversion means to print the inputted image on a print paper. The pixel group generation means selects pixels closest to the centroid position determined by the centroid position determination means.
