Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress wasting of ink discharged from nozzles by setting a sensor for detecting a paper end to be an optimum position.
SOLUTION: The printing apparatus is equipped with a carriage for moving a plurality of the nozzles arranged along a transfer direction of a medium in a predetermined movement direction, and the sensor set at the carriage and capable of detecting the end of the medium. The printing apparatus controls discharging of a liquid from the plurality of nozzles in accordance with the detection result when the sensor detects the end of the medium. In the printing apparatus, the sensor is set at the upstream side in the transfer direction more than the transfer direction uppermost nozzle among the plurality of nozzles.
