Abstract:
To provide a printing apparatus which comprises a movable blade and enables suppression of adhesion of a pressure-sensitive adhesive of a label sheet to the movable blade.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus comprises: a conveyance mechanism which conveys a sheet; a printing mechanism which performs printing on the sheet; a cut mechanism which comprises a movable blade and a stationary blade and cuts the sheet by moving the movable blade toward the stationary blade; and control means which controls the conveyance mechanism and the cut mechanism. When the sheet is a label sheet having a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the control means moves the label sheet backward before moving the movable blade which has cut the label sheet, moves the movable blade in a direction in which the movable blade is apart from the stationary blade with the label sheet moved backward, and then moves the label sheet forward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
