PURPOSE: To obtain high reliability and good printing accuracy by increasing the response speed of the deformation of a partition wall composed of a piezoelectric element by setting the dielectric loss of the electrode provided to a groove obtained when the dielectric loss of the electrode is measured by a sine wave having specific frequency to a specific value or less.
CONSTITUTION: When positive voltage is applied to electrodes 41.42, partition walls 51,52 generate deformation in the surface parallel to the surface of a drawing by shearing modes in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. As a result, the volume of the pressure chamber 92 constituted of a groove 32 is reduced and the pressure of the ink stored in the pressure chamber 92 and the ink is injected from the jet orifice 62 provided to a nozzle plate. The value of the dielectric loss of the electrode provided to the groove obtained when the dielectric loss of the electrode is measured by a sine wave with frequency of 10kHz is set to 0.1 or less. Since the response of the deformation of the partition walls composed of a piezoelectric material becomes fast, generated pressure becomes large and pressure response becomes fast and the enhancement of reliability and printing accuracy can be achieved.
