To provide a processing solution having bleaching capacity, ensuring age stability, retaining its bleaching capacity and forming no precipitate as a bleaching solution containing the iron (III) complex of an alkylenediamine-N,N '-disuccinic acid such as SS-EDDS as a bleaching agent and to provide a liquid processing agent.

The processing solution having bleaching capacity for a silver halide photographic sensitive material has pH 3.5-6.5 and contains the iron (III) complexes of an alkylenediaminedisuccinic acid and its analogous compound and a polycarboxylic acid having a lactam ring with a specified structure typified by 1-(1,2-dicarboxyethyl)-2-oxo-3-carboxymethyl-piperazine and/or its iron (III) complex. The content of the latter is 0.1-10 mol% of the content of the former.
