Title:
PRODUCTION OF ALPHA, OMEGA-ALKENOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3512615
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α,ω-alkenol capable of guaranteeing high selectivity connected to higher space-time yield in vapor-phase dehydration by selection of a proper catalyst.
SOLUTION: An α,ω-alkanediol, especially 1,6-hexanediol is catalytically monodehydrated by using a mixed catalyst of aluminum phosphate/barium phosphate in the molecular ratio of 1:10 to 10:1 as a catalyst at 300-500°C to give the objective compound. The mixed catalyst is obtained by adding phosphoric acid to aluminum phosphate containing barium carbonate with stirring, mixing the prepared salt material with water to improve forming properties, forming, drying and calcining at 400-600°C before use.
