PURPOSE: To obtain the titled suspension, having remarkably improved hue, dispersion preservation stability and dispersion stability of coating materials for coating base paper and suitable as a material for pressure-sensitive copying paper, by using a salt of an oligostyrenesulfonic acid as a dispersing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A polyvalent metallized salicylic acid resin is dispersed in water. In the process, a salt of an oligostyrenesulfonic acid derivative expressed by the formula (R is H or 1W5C alkyl; M is Na+, K+, Li+, Cs+, Rb+, Fr+ or NH4+; n is 5W10,000; m is 1W10,000 without exceeding n; one molecule may have different R therein) is used as a dispersing agent. A polyvalent metallized cocondensate resin consisting of salicylic acid, polyalkylbenzene and α,α'- dialkoxy-p-xylene is used as the above-mentioned metallized resin.
