PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality display effect, by settling down balls, which are covered with coatings insoluble in a liquid and soluble in a high-resistance organic liquid, in the liquid to form an accumulation layer and charging high polymer materials soluble in the liquid and removing the sheet-shaped coating obtained by eliminating the liquid and arranging display balls most closely.
CONSTITUTION: Many display balls 3 covered with coatings such as a wax coat insoluble in the liquid are dispersed and settled down in a low-viscosity liquid 13 to form an accumulation layer. A polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous solution is charged to this liquid to wrap the accumulation layer of balls 3 and is allowed to permeate into gaps between balls 3, and the liquid is eliminated, and the PVA is hardened. When a sheet 14 obtained in this manner 14 is washed away by toluene and coatings 20 are removed by dissolution, cavities corresponding to the thickness of coatings are generated around balls 3 by removal of coatings, and balls 3 is arranged freely rotatably and most closely in toluene substituted in cavities.
