Title:
PRODUCTION OF BETA-DIKETONATE COMPLEX OF RARE EARTH ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3307685
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an extremely highly pure complex containing no water by a simple method not requiring an industrially difficult and unprofitable operation such as sublimational purification.
CONSTITUTION: The anhydrous salt of a rare earth element (e.g. yttrium: Y) is reacted with a β-diketone (e.g. dipivaloylmethane: DPM) in the presence of a basic reaction accelerator in an anhydrous organic solvent, and the obtained precipitates are washed with pure water, filtered out and subsequently dried under vacuum to provide the extremely highly pure rare earth element β- diketonate complex [e.g. Y(DPM)3].
