Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form the lens without having ruggedness by heating two sheets of synthetic resin plates which are different in refractive index of light in the state approximate to the softening point and joining both the plates, then forming the joined body to the shape complying with the outside shape of the contact lens, slicing the body to form a circular sheet and shaping the sheet with compressing machines while heating the sheet. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of the synthetic resin plates 1, 2 which are different in the refractive index are heated and pressurized at the temp. approximate to the softening temp. to form the integral and seamless plate. A semi-circular projecting part 3 is formed to approximately the central part of the synthetic resin plate 1 and a semi-circular recess 4 fitting to this projecting part 3 is formed to the other synthetic resin plate 2. The corner parts are then so cut away that the seam part and the rugged parts are positioned in the central part to form a cylindrical body 5; thereafter, the cylindrical body 5 is sliced in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction thereof to form the disk-shaped sheet 6. This sheet 6 is inserted between the upper and lower compressing machines 7 and 8 and is heated simultaneously with pressing, by which the curved surface confirming to the shape of the curved dies formed to the top and bottom ends of the machines 7, 8 is formed. The contact lens having no seams and no ruggedness is easily obtd. in this way.
