Abstract:
To make it possible to produce a cylindrical photoreceptor free from defects in coating by foreign matter, such as foam of a coating liquid, non- dissolved matter, flocs and dust.
This process comprises producing the cylindrical photoreceptor by applying the photosensitive coating liquid through a liquid feed route from a coating liquid tank 48 onto the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical base material. In such a case, the coating liquid tank 48 or the liquid feed route is provided with at least one laser foreign matter detector for detecting the foreign matter in the coating liquid with a laser beam.
