Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely and hermetically seal a thin wall hermetically sealed vessel such as it must depend on a laser beam welding in a remarkably shorter time than the laser beam welding.
CONSTITUTION: A lower part 12a of a cap body 12 to close an opening part of a vessel body 11 fits into the opening part, an upper part extends outside and it is made in contact with an upper surface of the opening peripheral part 11a of the vessel body 11. The upper surface of a lower electrode 30a is at a position being upper than the lower surface of the cap body 12, and the lower electrode 30a is abutted with pressing to the outside surface of the vessel body 11. The upper elecrode 30b is abutted with pressing to the upper face of the extending part 12b of the cap body 12. A low voltage large current is fed between the upper electrode 30a and the lower electrode 30b in a short time, the opening peripheral part 11a of the vessel body 11 and the extending part 12b of the cap body 12 are welded with electric resistance. The lower electrode 30a is composed of copper, etc., with a large electrical conductivity, and the upper electrode 30b is composed of tungsten, molybdenum, etc., with a small electrical conductivity.
