Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently producing hexahydrophthalimidine useful as a raw material for antidiabetic drugs, etc. in high selectivity and yield by catalytic hydrogenation of phthalimide under mild conditions.
The objective hexahydrophthalimidine is obtained by reducing phthalimide through hydrogenation in the presence of a ctatalyst composed of at least one element selected from group VIII elements and at least one element selected from group VI b or group VII b elements.
