Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily obtain a perfect metal oxide by dehydrating an ag. soln. contg. a water soluble metal-ammonia and/or metal-amine complex compd. and an ammonium halide by heating and by further heating the resulting material in the air. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. one or more kinds of water soluble metal- ammonia and/or metal-amine complex compds. and an ammonium halide is dehydrated by heating and the resulting material is further heated in an oxidizing atmosphere. The complex compds. are thermally decomposed and a metal oxide is obtd. The metal-ammonium complex compds. may be hexammine complex salts such as hexamminecobalt (II) chloride [Co(NH3)6]Cl2 and tetramminepalladium chloride [Pd(NH3)4]Cl2. The metal-amine complex compds. may be tris(ethylenediamine)cobalt (III) chloride [Co(C2H8N2)3]Cl3 and tris(ethylenediamine)platinum (IV) chloride [Pt(C2H8N2)3]Cl4.
