Title:
PRODUCTION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE 1-OCTEN-3-OL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3638643
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simply obtain the subject compound in high asymmetric selectivity by reacting 1-octen-3-ol with an acyl donor in the presence of a lipase.
CONSTITUTION: 1-octen-3-ol (hereinafter referred to as matsutakeol) is reacted with an acyl donor such as an alkyl ester, an alkenyl ester, an acid anhydride, etc., of a carboxylic acid in the presence of a lipase, especially a lipase derived from Candida antarctica in a solvent (e.g. hexane) at 4-80°C. An unreacted material is separated from a mixture containing the resultant acylated material and the unreacted material to afford (R)-matsutakeol and the acylated material is hydrolyzed to provide (S)-matsutakeol. The lipase is used in an amount of 0.1-10wt.%.
