Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an industrially practicable process for producing an aliphatic or aromatic polyamide imide resin having excellent heat-resistance and controlled molecular orientation and moldable by injection molding. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyamide imide of formula V having controlled molecular orientation can be produced by reacting (A) 1mol of benzene-1,2,4- tricarboxylic acid anhydride with (B) 0.475-0.525mol (preferably 0.49-0.51mol) of a diisocyanate of formula I (R1 is aromatic group of formula II or formula III) (e.g. m-xylylene diisocyanate) in the presence of (C) an alkali metal compound (preferably polybasic carboxylic acid alkali metal salt, alkali metal fluoride, etc.) in an aprotic polar solvent (preferably phosphorylamide, sulfoxide, etc.) at 100-250 deg.C mixing the reaction product with (D) 0.475-0.525mol (preferably 0.49-0.51mol) of a diisocyanate of formula IV (R2 is same as the group of R1) (e.g. m-xylylene diisocyanate) and carrying out the polycondensation reaction at >=150 deg.C.
