Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymeric polyol having a low viscosity and an excellent filterability, and capable of imparting excellent mechanical strength to a polyurethane foam by polymerizing a specific ethylenic unsaturated monomer in a polyol in the presence of a specific reaction controller.
SOLUTION: A polymeric polyol is obtained by polymerizing (A) an ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing 50-100wt.% of styrene and 0-50wt.% of acrylonitrile by using in an amount so as a polymer concentration in the objective polymeric polyol to be 30-60wt.% in (B) a polyol [e.g. polyoxyalkylene polyol having 600-3,000 molecular weight per 1 piece of OH and containing 0-15wt.% of polyethylene oxide] and in the presence of (C) a reaction controller containing a secondary alcohol and a tertiary alkylamine as essential components.
