Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare the title resin excellent in heat resistance and mechanical properties by hydrolyzing a mixture consisting of a copolymer of an organometallic compd. having a polymerizable group and a hydrolyzable functional group with an unsatd. monomer and an inorg. compd. CONSTITUTION:The title resin is prepd. by hydrolyzing a mixture consisting of a copolymer of an organometallic compd. having a polymerizable group and a hydrolyzable functional group (e.g. a compd. of formula I, II, or III) with an unsatd. monomer (e.g. vinyl chloride, ethylene, or propylene) and an inorg. compd. (e.g. calcium carbonate, titanium oxide, alumina, or carbon black). The resin, having a remarkably improved heat resistance and improved mechanical properties such as tensile strength at a high temp., can be used, e.g. as a covering material for a warm water pipe and a heater.
