Abstract:
PURPOSE: To readily and inexpensively produce a dense sintered compact having excellent sintering properties, especially one having uniform surface characteristics and color tone (free from color unevenness to reduce commercial value) by a simple method in good mass productivity without deteriorating characteristics of Si3N4 of its own.
CONSTITUTION: In production of a siliceous nitride sintered compact by sintering secondarily under higher pressure than pressure in primary sintering, a primarily sintered material is covered with an aggregate of carbon fibers and secondarily sintered to give the siliceous nitride sintered compact.
