Abstract:
PURPOSE: The reaction between a titanium alkoxide or zirconium alkoxide and an alkaline earth alkoxide is carried out in the presence of a carboxylic acid in an organic solvent to give a new clear solution for forming alkaline earth complex oxide thin films.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of the formula: M1(OR1)4 (M1 is Ti, Zr; R1 is hydrocarbon) and an alkaline earth alkoxide of the formula: M2(OR2)2 (M2 is alkaline earth metal; R2 is hydrocarbon) are mixed in the presence of a carboxylic acid of R3COOH (R3 is 1W6C alkyl) and, when necessary, water to effect reaction to produce the objective solution of oxide precursor. As a carboxylic acid, is cited preferably acetic or propionic acid, while 1W4C alcohol is preferred as the organic solvent.
