Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lift of a thin plate glass adhering to an upper mold in the separation of the upper mold from the lower mold after supplying a glass gob between the lower mold and upper mold and pressing in the form of a thin plate glass and improve the mass-productivity of the plate glass by using a cylinder mold for holding the thin plate glass on the lower mold.
SOLUTION: A lower mold 21 is provided with a cylinder mold 25 composed of a main body 26 and a flange 27 and encircling the lower mold 21. The lower mold 21 is made to be freely slidable in vertical direction along the inner circumference of the cylinder mold 25. The upper mold 11 is provided with a cylinder mold 15 composed of a main body 16 and a flange 17, having the inner diameter of the main body 16 smaller than the inner diameter of the main body 26 of the lower mold 25 and encircling the upper mold 11. The upper mold 11 is made to be vertically slidable along the inner circumference of the cylinder mold 15. The lower face of the cylinder mold 15 of the upper mold has concave form 18 and the upper face of the cylinder mold 25 of the lower mold has a convex form 28 and the concave 18 and the convex 28 are fit with each other when both cylinder mold is brought into contact with each other. The formed thin plate glass is held on the lower mold 21 even by lifting the upper mold 11 after forming.
