Title:
PRODUCTION OF WATER-INSOLUBLE POLYSACCHARIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3128575
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polysaccharide useful as an insoluble dietary fiber, an excipient for a medicine or a raw material for a water-soluble oligosaccharide and a monosaccharide by passing pressurized hot water retained at a specific temperature through a packed fixed bed of cellulose powder to hydrolyze the cellulose, cooling the hot water, separating and recovering a precipitate.
SOLUTION: Pressurized hot water retained 270-310°C is passed through a packed fixed bed of cellulose powder so as to make ≤30 second retention time to hydrolyze the cellulose. The hot water is cooled, a precipitate is separated and recovered to give a water-insoluble polysaccharide comprising 6-25 glucose units. The cellulose powder is packed into a fixed bed type reactor 3 and a pressure valve 5 is adjusted so as to make the pressure in a system higher than the vapor pressure of the hot water to be circulated. Then water is sent to a hot water preparation part 2 by a high-pressure pump 1, made into hot water and circulated in the fixed bed type reactor 3. The decomposition product is discharged together with the hot water to the outside of the reactor, cooled by a cooler 4 and guided to a receiver.
