To provide a projection screen enlarging an incident angle allowable width of image light as a range causing no image light loss due to stray light, and displaying high-definition images without lowering surface brightness, and contrast.
The projection screen 111 has a total reflection prism lens 114 and a lenticular lens 115 provided at the observation side of the total reflection prism lens 114. The prism lens 114 is provided with a plurality of unit prisms 113 on a rear side (closest to incident light face side) of the incident image light L. Each unit prism 113 has an apical angle λ corresponding to an angle formed by an incident face 113a and a total reflection face 113b, and the apical angle λ of each unit prism 113 varies with the position of each unit prism 113 on the screen. Particularly, the apical angle λ continuously varies in the range of 30°-45° to get larger at the distant side than that at the near side to a center O of a concentric circle.
