Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantifying method for the cholesterol in low-density lipoprotein only with a single supply of a sample to be inspected while two or more kinds of reagents are not required to be added to the sample at individual timing, related to a method for quantifying the cholesterol concentration contained in the low-density lipoprotein in the sample.
SOLUTION: A process (a) where the total cholesterol concentration in a sample to be inspected containing at least high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, ultra low-density lipoprotein, and kairomicron is measured, and a process (b) where the cholesterol concentration contained in the high-density lipoprotein, ultra low-density lipoprotein, and chylomicron in the sample is measured, are provided, and the concentration value acquired from the process (b) is subtracted from that acquired from the process (a) to provide the cholesterol concentration contained in a low-density lipoprotein.
