Title:
RADIATION IMAGE READER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3965959
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image reader capable of markedly improving the quality of a radiation image by effectively removing scattering radiation.
SOLUTION: This radiation image reader 10 including a support plate 12, a stimulable phosphor sheet 19 disposed on the opposite side to radiation irradiating side of the support plate 12, and a reading means for reading stimulable emission light discharged from the stimulable phosphor sheet 19, is provided with a metallic foil 21 constituted of a metal of atomic number 20 or higher, or an alloy of effective atomic number 20 or higher, nearer to the subject side than the stimulable phosphor sheet 19. The metallic foil 21 has an average radiation permeability in a local area of 1 mm2 arbitrarily sampled from its surface, which is 1/10 to 10 times as much as the average radiation permeability in the overall superficial area, and a thickness of 5 to 200 μm.
