Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an intensifying screen which is improved in sharpness characteristic and is provided with excellent durability by preventing penetration of a protective layer coating liquid into a phosphor layer to maintain the binder resin content in the phosphor layer at a low level in the case of formation of the protective layer by applying the protective layer forming liquid on the intensifying screen and a process for producing such intensifying screen.
CONSTITUTION: This radiation intensifying screen has a base, the phosphor layer formed on the base, a resin layer formed by applying a resin soln. on the phosphor layer and the protective layer formed by applying the soln. contg. the protective layer forming resin on the resin layer. This process for producing the radiation intensifying screen comprises forming the protective layer by applying the resin soln. contg. the resin and an org. solvent on the previously formed phosphor layer, drying the coating to form the resin layer, then applying the soln. contg. the protective layer forming resin thereon and drying the coating.
