To provide a wireless communication apparatus which can confirm a receipt (Block Ack) by one frame with respect to a plurality of frame transmissions by MC/BC communication in an environment of wireless LAN communication.
The wireless communication apparatus for use in a wireless communication system having a function performing multicast communication for broadcasting from a master station to a large number of specified terminals and performing broadcast communication for broadcasting to a large number of unspecified terminals conforming to the regulations IEEE802.11 and IEEE802.11e of wireless LAN communication is provided with a function for imparting a value to MAC header which identifies the existence of a reply of an ACK frame as acknowledgment for a transmission content when a data frame is multicast or broadcast from the master station, and the terminal is provided with a function for notifying a Block ACK frame at once when the Block ACK frame is requested as the acknowledgment for a plurality of frame transmission in multicast communication or broadcast communication.
