To provide a radio communication system and a radio communication terminal device that can easily avoid congestion of communication not only between a base station and a sensor node, but also between sensor nodes.
The radio communication terminal device includes a radio transmission/reception unit for communication with the base station, an infrared transmission/reception unit for communication with other radio terminals, a congestion control unit which detects whether radio communication is in a state wherein no collision is caused, and a communication control unit which performs radio communication with the base station by the radio transmission/reception unit after the congestion control unit detects a free state of a radio channel, and transmits identifier information to other radio terminals by the infrared transmission/reception unit when the radio communication with the base station ends.
