To provide a radio wave absorbing material, exhibiting high heat resistance and flame resistance which is lightweight and can be easily processed and formed.
A cloth is manufactured by weaving 1% of carbon fibers in weight into a commercially available E-type glass fiber cloth as a sample for radio wave absorbability test. The radio wave absorbability of the cloth is tested, and characteristics shown in figure are obtained. Also, when the cloth is heated at 750±5°C, its reduction in weight is 1% or less. When the cloth is put in a microwave oven (rated output: 500 W and oscillation frequency: 2,450 MHz) and the oven is switched on, the cloth glows but its reduction in weight is 1% or less after that. Accordingly, it has been established that the cloth exhibits high heat resistance and generates low heating, even when it is subjected to strong radio waves.
