Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway storage battery device intended to be downsized and easily accommodated in a railway vehicle while ensuring insulation.SOLUTION: A plurality of battery pack boxes 43 of a railway storage battery device each accommodates therein a battery cell group 41X comprising a plurality of battery cells 41 for storing electric power supplied from a DC overhead power line 12 and a cell management device for exerting a control to charge/discharge the plurality of battery cells 41 under control of a battery management unit 31, is made of resin, and exhibits predetermined insulation properties. A metallic box 35 can be mounted in a railway vehicle 11 via an insulating member 36, accommodates therein one or more battery pack boxes 43, and accommodates therein the battery management unit 31 for exerting the control to charge/discharge the plurality of battery cells 41 accommodated in the battery pack boxes 43 accommodated therein. All the battery cell groups 41X accommodated in the plurality of battery pack boxes 43 are connected to each other in series.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
