Abstract:
A reader which can advice a user to urge improvement if there is a problem in the use state of a lead battery before the battery deteriorates or becomes under charge. Accumulated number of times of starting an engine, accumulated operating time of an engine and the data of OCV of the lead battery (20) are stored in the EEPROM of an AI unit, and data is transmitted to the reader (50) by flickering an LED. The reader (50) receives the data at a light receiving section (15), performs diagnosis by analyzing the data at an operating section and delivers the results of diagnosis to an LCD (14) or a printer (13) thus advising the user properly in the case of use at the charge shortage of the lead battery (20). In the diagnosis, the time when the user is taking a car per one engine start is obtained by dividing the accumulated operating time of an engine by the accumulated number of times of starting an engine and then it is compared with a predetermined reference value.
