Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable both the damping action to vertical vibration of a car body and the compliance-steering action to be independently adjusted so that each of them may keep the suitable controlling force, in a rear suspension device for an automobile having the compliance function for automatically steering a rear wheel to the toe-in side or the toe-out side by making use of generating damping force.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary damper 13 is used as a shock absorber for damping the vertical vibration of a car body 3, and the car body 3 on the spring upper side and an axle housing 4 of a rear wheel supporting mechanism on the spring lower side are connected to each other through an arm 14 of this rotary damper 13 and a link 15 connected to the arm 14.
