Abstract:
To provide a receiver and reception method capable of accurately detecting and precisely removing noise included in a reception signal.SOLUTION: A receiver according to one embodiment includes: an estimated noise detection unit; a comparison unit; a correction unit; a noise detection unit; and a noise elimination unit. The estimated noise detection unit detects estimated noise from a frequency spectrum of a reception signal. The comparison unit compares the sum total of spectral intensity of an upper side band with the sum total of spectral intensity of a lower side band when the spectrum of the estimated noise and the spectrum at a position symmetrical with the estimated noise with respect to the center frequency of the frequency spectrum are removed from the frequency spectrum. The correction unit corrects the center frequency of the frequency spectrum on the basis of the comparison result. The noise detection unit detects noise on the basis of a value indicating asymmetricity between the upper side band and the lower side band in the frequency spectrum of the corrected center frequency. The noise elimination unit eliminates the detected noise from the reception signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
