PURPOSE: To provide a reclining device for vehicle consisting of an epicyclic gear reduction mechanism, an assembly work of the epicyclic gear reduction mechanism of which can be easily and economically done without a chattering adjustment.

CONSTITUTION: A supporting hole of a supporting plate 50 in which a boss part of an epicyclic gear 20 is fitted is made into an oval shape which extends in the radial direction so that the epicyclic gear becomes movable in the radial direction with the axis of a sun gear 10 as its center. The tooth surface of the sun gear 10 is formed into a tilted shape to the axis so that the tooth part outer diameter of the sun gear 10 may be tapered to one end side in the axial direction. In addition, an energizing means 60 which energizes the sun gear 10 to one end side so that the epicyclic gear 20 is pushed to the outside in the previously mentioned radial direction to be pressed to an upper gear 30 or lower gear 40, by pressing the tilted tooth surface of the sun gear 10 to the tooth surface of the epicyclic gear 20, is attached.
