Title:
RECORDER AND METHOD FOR DETECTING INK JET STATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3495898
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect ink jet state with high accuracy in real time by applying a single pulse signal different from a double pulse signal based on an input image signal at the time of test ink jet during scanning at a recording head.
SOLUTION: In a recorder where a carriage 15 holding a recording head 5 reciprocates in the main scanning direction, a photosensor 8 for detecting an ink drop jetted from the recording head 5 is disposed oppositely to the nozzle array of the recording head 5 between a cap 20 and the end of a recording sheet P. When test jet is performed during scanning of the recording head, ink is jetted preliminarily at the position of the photosensor 8 by applying a single pulse signal set with a minimum pulse width. Based on the detection results from the photosensor 8, operating state of a plurality of recording elements in the recording head 5 is analyzed individually in real time at a control section.
